Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Dr. Seuss is probably one the most recognized children's authors, especially of short stories, and later this week, GLC's teachers and children will be celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday! All week long, they have been reading and enjoying some of the books Dr. Seuss has written such as The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and Oh! The Places You'll Go! Be sure to contact Miss Wanda if you want to be a part of the birthday bash this Friday!

Reading is somewhat second-nature to us, but reading is such an important part of life. It is also a pivotal part of every child's education. The ability to read opens the door to imagination and more learning. As your child participates in celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday, take the opportunity to introduce him or her to some other great authors and other great children's classics. Also, begin working to instill a love for reading in your child.
